300 HOUR WEEKEND PROGRAM

The course is open to people who have earned their 200-hour yoga teacher training certification through a Yoga Alliance-Affiliated school. Upon completion of the training, you will receive your RYT 300 yoga teacher certification. We are a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance which is highly recognized internationally.

**Completion of the 200-Hour Teacher Training Program is a pre-requisite for enrollment in this 300 program.

Our curriculum is aimed at helping you get to the next step in your yoga teaching, improving your effectiveness, sharpening your teaching focus, and providing you with tools for adapting yoga across a range of student needs.  Our program is based on three pillars of investigation and learning: exploring the yoga practice through the body (asana), mind (meditation) and heart (integration).  

 

What You’ll Learn:

 

ASANA - POSTURE•

*Knowledge of basic asana• Yogic anatomy and philosophy• Alignment and avoiding Injuries• Medical Benefits• How to Read Bodies balance between body, mind and breath.

*The Five Categories of Asana: The trainee will practice and learn the key poses in each category of asana (forward bends, backbends, twists, inversions, and extensions) and will begin to develop a relationship to both the form and the function of these different categories.

 

YOGIC HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY

  • Basic History, philosophy and evolution of Yoga

  • 8 Kinds of Yoga

  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

 

PRANAYAMA - BREATHING

  • The use of breath as a transformative tool for self-awareness Breath Control Different

  • Subtle Energy & Anatomy: Awareness and activation of subtle energy, including how to cultivate bandhas and the relationship between pranayama, bandhas, and the elements of yogic anatomy, including koshas, chakras, nadis, vayus, gunas, and doshas. 

 

MEDITATION

  • What it is and why it is practiced

  • Quieting the mind to develop deeper levels of self-awareness

  • Deeper meditation, subtle body and yoga philosophy studies

 

THE ART OF TEACHING

  • How to address a group of students

  • How to use your own body as a teaching tool

  • How to use your voice: volume, tempo and pacing

  • refine your verbal cueing skills

  • How to correct postures

  • teach mixed levels classes with confidence and skill

  • Energy, passion, confidence & humor

  • Using your own presence and self- awareness as a transformative teaching tool 

  • Principles of Demonstrating Asanas: Discuss how effective demonstrations in class can help emphasize an alignment or other focus for the specific pose or sequence of poses. 

  • Learning Modalities: identifying your  dominant style, and learning how to teach based on others’ learning styles

  • Use of Language and Voice: Lecture and discussion on active vs. passive language and the effective use of each; positive and  conscious communication, and habitual speech and communication patterns

  • develop a deeper understanding of human anatomy as it applies to yoga

  • Advanced Class Planning & Sequencing: The art and science of sequencing families of asanas and crafting entire classes, including for different levels of students, different intentions, seasons, styles and other considerations. Here we also cover pacing, duration, tempo, and vibe for different levels and intentions of classes.

About Missy White:

In 2004 after 15 years in the weight loss industry I left my corporate job and traveled to LA for an intensive

9 week Teacher Training course at Bikram's Yoga College of India. This was just the beginning of her journey, since then I have trained with several yoga teachers such as David Swenson, Shiva Rae, Cameron Shane, Ana Forrest, Desiree Rumbaugh, Duncan Wong, Andre Lappa and many others.  Missy currently teaches her signature Funky Flow Master classes, Arm Balancing, Inversion and Back bending workshops as well as the 108 Asanas workshop throughout the US and the UK.
